CESM Goals and Objectives

1. To establish a successful and highly visible Environmental Systems Microbiology center within on the Georgia Tech campus.

2. To support and leverage the broader set of campus-wide initiatives that integrate the biological sciences with other disciplines.

3. To enhance the research programs of GaTech faculty, attract outstanding graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and increase levels of extramural funding.

4. To train a new generation of researchers to solve important problems in environmental microbiology using innovative approaches that crosscut traditional disciplinary boundaries.
