Job Opportunities

Postdoctoral Opportunities
Georgia Institute of Technology

A postdoctoral position is available immediately to conduct research in the areas of biodegradation and biocatalysis. Studies involve exploration of metabolic diversity among bacteria that degrade both synthetic and natural organic compounds. Biocatalysis research involves the development of microorganisms for green synthesis of specialty chemicals and monomers for use in synthesis of polymers. Both research areas will involve microbial physiology, biochemistry, and molecular biology for understanding bacterial metabolic pathways, genetic organization and regulation. The laboratory is very well equipped with analytical instruments and all the facilities needed for cell cultivation and molecular biology. Applicants should have a recent PhD and a strong background in microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, organic chemistry, or biochemical engineering. To apply, contact Jim Spain to discuss the research topics and application procedure.
